The first update to Apple’s iOS 6 is now available for download on supported iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
iOS 6.0.1 software update contains many improvements and bug fixes. For iPhone 5 users, the update fixes the problem to install software updates wirelessly over the air.
Other improvements and fixes are listed below.
• Fixes a bug where horizontal lines may be displayed across the keyboard
• Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off
• Improves reliability of iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 Wi-Fi networks
• Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the cellular network in some instances
• Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match
• Fixes a Passcode Lock bug which sometimes allowed access to Passbook pass details from lock screen
• Fixes a bug affecting Exchange meetings
You can choose to run the update over-the-air (OTA), accessible from Settings > General > Software Update or via iTunes. The size of iOS 6.0.1 software update is 56 MB.
Compatible iDevices include iPhone 5, 4S, 4, 3GS, new iPad (3rd gen), iPad 2, fourth generation of the iPod touch.
