Earlier this year, Apple has unveiled the new iPad (3rd generation) on March 7. Now, the fourth generation of the Apple tablet is here, merely seven months after the launch of the new iPad. Moreover, it has a new name (again!), the tablet is now known as iPad with Retina Display. Read on for more details.
In Apple’s iPad Mini event earlier today, Apple has surprisingly announced the refreshed version of iPad tablet. The iPad with Retina Display packs new A6X processor with quad-core graphics . It delivers twice the CPU and graphics performance of the older A5X chip in the third-gen iPad.
In addition, the 9.6-inch tablet also gets dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, expanded LTE compatibility, a 720p FaceTime camera on the front and the new image processor, similar to the one in iPhone 5. Also, Apple replaces the old 30-pin connector with the Lightning port, first debuted on the iPhone 5. As for battery life, the 4th gen iPad still gives you 10 hours of battery.
Last but not least, the tablets runs the latest iOS 6 out of the box.
