Engadget reported from the “Let’s Talk iPhone” event that Apple’s next generation mobile operating system, iOS 5 as well as the iCloud service, will be available to public beginning Wednesday next week, on October 12, as announced by Scott Forstall (senior vice president of iPhone software).

The iOS 5 comes with over 200 new features for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, which includes Newsstand, Reminders, iMessage, WiFi sync, Find My Friends, split keyboards, AirPlay mirroring for iPad 2 and the Notification Center. iOS 5 is available as free update to existing iOS devices and is delivered over-the-air (OTA).
Meanwhile, the iCloud service gives you 5GB of free storage. It automatically stores your content such as music, photos, apps, calendars, documents, and more, in the cloud, and is accessible across all your devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Mac).
