Samsung’s newly announced Galaxy Note 3 phablet together with the Galaxy Gear smartphone will be launched in Malaysia on Friday, September 20. The phablet is expected to be priced at RM 2,299 for LTE variant. 3G version is most probably will not land in Malaysia. Global launch is set at September 25, but look like Malaysians will get hold of the phablet as early as this weekend. 🙂
Samsung Malaysia has sent out invitation to selected media friends to attend the launch event. No official word on the pricing but e-retailer Superbuy suggested the price tag of RM 2,299 for Galaxy Note 3 LTE, while Galaxy Gear smartwatch could fetch RM 1,199. Superbuy is throwing a RM50 discount for the smartwatch.
To recap on the specs, the Galaxy Note 3 phablet features a larger Super AMOLED full HD 1080p screen display at 5.7-inch (5.5-inch in Galaxy Note II) and is powered by a quad core 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor for the 4G LTE version. The phablet has 3GB of RAM and built-in storage option of 32 or 64GB. Storage can be further expand up to 64GB via a microSD card slot.
Galaxy Note 3 has a 13MP rear camera that is capable of recording 4K resolutions Ultra HD video and a 2MP front-facing camera with full HD 1080p video recording capability. Other features include new functionality to the S Pen stylus (new Air Command that offers quick access to Action Memo, Scrapbook, S Finder and new S Note), LTE, HSDPA, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC,  Bluetooth 4.0 and a 3,200 mAh battery.
The phablet runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and available in colors – Black, White and Pink.
