What’s the first thing that comes to your mind after taking some interesting or meaningful pictures using your phone? We believe many of you will share the photos with family and friends by uploading them to your favorite social network sites like Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Twitter etc. The question is, do you realize that how large the size of a picture can be? If a picture has a size of 4MB, then 20 pictures shall uses 80MB of your allocated mobile data. If you do it on daily basis, your monthly mobile data will hit the limit much faster. Well, it’s all depends on how large your data limit is.
So what should you do before upload the pictures to the web? Introducing AVG Image Shrink & Share app for Android. This handy app will help you resize images on your Android, thus reducing the image sizes, yes, a lot! The app supports JPEG, BMP and PNG formats.
The app is easy to use. In the main interface, there are options to view original images, shrunk images as well as Settings option. All you need to do is tap into the “Original images” option, then select the images that you want to resize. When you’re done, simply tap on the “Shrink” button.
Choose the ideal image size from a list of predefined sizes. The smaller size you choose, the smaller the size of the image will be. There is an option to automatically delete the original images. You should check the option if you don’t wish to keep two copies of the same image. This way you can also save storage space on your phone.
When the process is completed, you can find all the resized images inside the “Shrunk images” section. Now, what to do next? Share your pictures, of course! The good thing about this app is you can directly share the images from the app. You can share them on your favourite social networks, via email, instant messaging or MMS.
AVG Image Shrink & Share is free for download and is compatible with Android 2.1 and up.
