Let’s me ask you a simple yet crucial question, “How many of you charge your phones or tablets every single day without fail?”. If your answer is a yes, that means you are now a slave to the power socket!
Well you’re not the only person with the issue, in fact there are many of us whose mobile devices couldn’t even last a single working day. And according to a research from Norton by Symantec, phone battery life was the number one irritating mobile issue for consumers surveyed.
We all know that you still need to charge your mobile devices at the end of the day, but at least you can try to maximize the battery life and squeeze a little more juice out of each charge. How? Introducing the Mobile Utilities Lite for Android, yet another free app from Norton.
Norton Mobile Utilities Lite is a suite of handy tools (four of them) that enables you to extend the battery life of your Android devices (smartphones or tablets) and keeps your devices running at peak performance. This app isn’t just a battery saver app but also provides several tools to keep your Android device in top shape.
The main screen of the Norton Mobile Utilities Lite is divided into four main sections. There are sections for battery management, advanced task killing, data monitoring and app management.
In the battery management section, you can define the battery-saving profile in order to improve the battery life of your Android device. Simply turn off or adjust settings that are draining power like screen brightness, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, auto-sync and more, all in one screen. The Apps Monitor tab allows you to view the battery usage of each running app.
Next, in the advanced task killer section, you can monitor system resources of your Android device in real time including the CPU speed, memory usage and network status. You have the options to kill the memory and/or CPU hogging applications one by one or terminate all the apps (excluding some system apps) with a single tap. There is also a quick access to system information.
The data monitoring section enables you to keep track of your phone voice minutes, SMS text messages and data usage to avoid overages and extra fees on your monthly calling and data bill. You will receive auto-alert reminders before you exceed your call and data plan.
Last but not least is the section for app management. You will find everything from uninstalling unwanted apps (single or batch) to clearing app cache to free up storage, from batch moving apps to SD card to finding app installer files on your SD card.
Norton Mobile Utilities Lite app is free for download for Android smartphones and tablets, available at the Google Play Store. A full-featured version is also available for USD$9.99.
