Maxis is the first telco in Malaysia to officially launch the 4G LTE network service on January 1 this year. Now, the largest Malaysian telco offered its first 4G LTE smartphones – Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One XL to consumers to experience speeds 5 to 10 times faster than 3G network.
Nokia Lumia 920 is offered from as low as RM1,099 (RRP 1,999) with SurfMore 75 plan or TalkMore78 with 3GB Mobile Internet and HTC One XL from RM1,199 (RRP RM2,099) with SurfMore 75 or TalkMore78 Plan with 3GB Mobile Internet.
Below is the details for both smartphones bundling plans on 24-month and 12-month contract.
Both smartphones can handle high speed data on Maxis’ 4G LTE network with speeds up to 75Mbps. Typical speeds around 10 to 30 Mbps. Currently, Maxis’ 4G LTE service is available in selected parts of the Klang Valley including Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Damansara Utama, Desa Sri Hartamas, Bandar Puchong Jaya, Bandar Sunway and Cyberjaya.
In area where LTE network is not accessible, the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One XL phones will switch seamlessly to 3G network.

Maxis Berhad (Maxis), Malaysia’s leading integrated communications service provider, launched two 4G LTE smartphones today – the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One XL. These will be the first two smartphones to be activated on Maxis’ 4G LTE network.

Customers using Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One XL in 4G LTE coverage areas will enjoy speeds of up to 75Mbps, with typical speeds of 10 to 30Mbps, five to ten times faster than 3G. Outside of 4G LTE coverage areas, the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One XL phones will switch seamlessly onto Maxis’ widest and most advanced 3G mobile network which reaches 82% of the population.
The Nokia Lumia 920 is positioned as Nokia’s most innovative Lumia to date, boasting features such as Carl Zeiss lens, PureView technology with Optical Image Stabilisation and a 4.5? Maxis launched its 4G LTE service at the stroke of midnight on 1 January 2013, making it the first Malaysian telco to launch the service locally.
