HTC has announced the second generation of its Butterfly smartphone. The new Android smartphone which goes by the name Butterfly S, gets a new processor, larger battery capacity and includes features from HTC One like HTC BlinkFeed, HTC Zoe and HTC BoomSound dual front-facing stereo speakers. The Butterfly S is powered by a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor with the same old 2GB of memory and 16GB worth of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot to further expand the storage by up to 64GB. It sports the same screen display as the original Butterfly smartphone. The 1080p full HD smartphone features a 5-inch super LCD 3 HD display with 1,920 x 1080 resolution (440PPI).
Other than a new processor, HTC Butterfly S gets a major boost in battery life as it is now packed with a 3,200 mAh battery. Previously the battery capacity is only 2,020 mAh. In addition to that, there is Blinkfeed, dual front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers with Beats Audio and Ultrapixel camera with HTC Zoe. All these features are first seen in HTC One.

Other notable features include 2.1MP wide angle front facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5 overlay. There is no 4G LTE connectivity though. For more details on the specs, you can hop over to the official page at HTC global site.
Pricing and Availability
The HTC Butterfly S will be available in select Asia Pacific markets from July. No word on the pricing but according to Engadget, the smartphone would retails at NT $22,900 (roughly $766) price tag in Taiwan. That’s around RM 2.4k in Ringgit Malaysia.
