Google has officially announced the arrival of a new Nexus device – the Nexus 5. Like last year’s Nexus 4, this device is also manufactured by LG. As a successor to Nexus 4, the all-new Nexus 5 has a larger screen, better processor, more battery juice, LTE support and features a new Android flavor – the version 4.4 KitKat. The Google Nexus 5 features a 4.95-inch full HD 1080p IPS screen display with Gorilla Glass 3. It has pixel density of 445PPI, whereas Nexus 4 with only 320PPI. The LG-built smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, coupled with an Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM and two storage options of 16GB or 32GB. The smartphone is measured at thickness of just 8.59mm and weighing just 130 grams.
Nexus 5 has a 8MP rear camera with a new optical image stabilization (OIS) for reducing blur. On its front is a 1.3MP camera. Other notable features include LTE connectivity, dual-band WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0LE, wireless charging and a 2,300 mAh battery.
On top of that, Nexus 5 is the first phone to run Android 4.4 KitKat. Some of the new features from the latest Android flavor include faster multitasking, a smarter caller ID, a new Hangouts app that groups all messages together in one place, new phone app auto prioritizes your contacts based on the people you talk to the most, plus the ability to print photos, documents, and web pages from your phone or tablet. Pricing and Availability
Both 16GB and 32GB models costs $349 and $399 respectively. The new Nexus 5 is available for purchase starting today in the Google Play Store in US, Canada, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan and South Korea. Coming soon to India.
