If you’ve read about the recently announced Android flagship smartphone from HTC Corporation – the HTC One X+, you should already know that the smartphone runs the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with the new HTC Sense 4+overlay.
One of the key features in Sense 4+ is the ability to easily set up and personalize your Android phone from a desktop web browser and then push the settings to your phone. The feature is called HTC Get Started and accessible at start.htcsense.com. Okay, let’s us take a brief look at the service.
This is the main page of HTC Get Started. Sign in to your HTCSense.com account, then choose your language and hit the Get Started button.
Next, you are prompt to choose the HTC Android device that you would like to set up. Currently, the feature only supports HTC One X+. The list shall expand to HTC One X and One S when the Jelly Bean and Sense 4+ becomes available to both devices later this month.
Now, you can begin setting up your phone by configuring the accounts that you want to use on your phone. This includes Yahoo, Dropbox, among others. It’s kinda weird that Google account is no where to be seen.
In this step, you shall personalize your phone by customizing your wallpapers, lock screens, applications, ringtones, home screen layout and bookmarks. You can choose to personalize all the stuffs individually or select one of HTC’s ready-made quick styles. There’s eight styles to choose from – Family, Games, Music, Photos, Social, Sports, Travel and Work.

Now you are done with the phone setup and personalization process. The last step is to push the phone settings to your HTC device. You need to sign in to your HTC account on your phone to receive the phone settings. The site does provide screenshots to assist you.
So there you go on how easy it is to setup HTC device from web browser, thanks to HTC Get Started feature. 🙂
