In our previous article, we’ve written that ASUS’s new 7-inch Fonepad tablet will officially go on sale in Taiwan today. Turns out, the Taiwanese company has just started taking pre-orders for the slate in their home country.
According to Focus Taiwan, the Fonepad will be available to purchase by the end of this month. The slate – ASUS’s first ever Android tablet with built-in 3G voice-calling functionality, will retail at NT $8,900 ($302) for the 16GB model.
The device will be available from the following retailers: Tsann Kuen Enterprise Co, E-Life Mall Corp and Sunfair Computer Co, as well as the Yahoo and PChome online stores. The Fonepad will be sold through Chunghwa Telecom, one of the largest telecom operators in the country.
For fellow Malaysians, we may see the arrival of the Fonepad next month. By the way, we’ve just received an invitation to join a technical seminar from ASUS Malaysia in the second week of April. Hope to see Fonepad there. 🙂
