Padfone 2 gets KitKat update

ASUS Malaysia has not yet forgotten about the Padfone 2 although the tablet and smartphone combo was first launched to local market in December 2012. Two days back, the company has announced the release of Android 4.4 KitKat and new ASUS ZenUI for current Padfone 2 users. 🙂

Unfortunately, the update isn’t available as OTA (on-the-air). Interested Padfone 2 users will need to download the update from ASUS’s website and install it on their devices.

For download and further instructions, please visit: http://www.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/PadFone2/HelpDesk_Download/. Here’s some guidance for you.

Instruction: Once you are in the site, Go to Driver & Tools tab, select Android from Select OS, select Firmware then select Version WWE V11.8.3.3.

Note that the installation will perform a factory reset. Hence, it is advisable for you to backup your phone’s data prior to installation. Happy upgrading to KitKat 4.4!
