This is rather an old news, nevertheless we are posting it here. Hope you don’t mind. 🙂
In January 22 media event at Ritz-Carlton (we didn’t make it though), ASUS Malaysia has announced the launch of the Taiwanese company’s affordable 7-inch tablet. Called the ASUS MeMO Pad, it has the same form factor as ASUS-built Nexus 7. The former is a budget-friendly tablet with “less exciting” specs than the latter and that translates into cheaper pricing.
Pronounced “meemo”, MeMO stands for “My Mobile. My Moment”. The device is a 7-inch LED-lit tablet with 1024 x 600 resolution at only 169 PPI and has a 140-degree viewing angle. It is powered by a single-core 1GHz processor with up to 16GB of internal memory and 1GB of RAM. There is a microSD card slot to expand the storage by up to 32GB.
Other features include 1MP front-facing camera capable of recording 720p video, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, microUSB port and a 4270 mAh battery (7 hours battery life). MeMO Pad runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is pre-loaded with a suite of ASUS apps, including SuperNote Lite, BuddyBuzz, ASUS WebStorage (5GB free cloud storage), ASUS Studio and WebStorage Office for enhanced productivity.
The device is already on sale since the end of January at authorised ASUS resellers at an attractive price tag of RM 499. At this price, ASUS MeMO Pad is easily the best quality tablet that you can buy for less than RM 500. MeMO Pad is available in three colours – Sugar White, Titanium Gray and Cherry Pink.
