Back in August, we have already mentioned about Google’s new service for Android users. It’s called the Android Device Manager, a service that helps you locate your lost or stolen phone, with the ability to ring, lock and remotely wipe out your phone’s data in case that the phone couldn’t be recovered.
The service is available as web interface for quite a while already, and now you can use it on-the-go with the release of the new Android Device Manager app on Google Play.
The Android app has the same features as its web counterpart. Using the app, you can locate your devices on a Google Map, ring, add a lock screen (with new password) or wipe your devices on the go.
Should you get this app? Yes, if you have multiple Android devices that are associated with your Google account. This way you can track your other devices in the event you misplace or lost them. But first, you need to enable remotely locate, lock and factory reset options in the Google Settings > Android Device Manager on all your devices. If you have only one device, it’s better to use the web version of Android Device Manager.
Android Device Manager app is free for download and is compatible with Android running version 2.3 and later.
