The other day we were talking the revised special edition of the HTC Sensation Android smartphone. Now, HTC Corporation has officially announced the first smartphone to come together with Beats audio technology – called the Sensation XE. FYI, HTC has acquired a majority stake in Beats Electronics last month.
To recap (from our previous article), the Sensation XE (as compared to the Sensation) features a new 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260 processor (previously 1.2 GHz), higher-capacity 1,730mAH battery (previously 1,520mAH) as well as four times more internal storage (up from 1GB to 4GB). Unfortunately, the smartphone only made available 1GB of user-accessible storage. But fret not, Sensation XE is shipped with either an 8GB or 16GB microSD card. Other features like screen display, RAM, front and rear cameras are still the same as the Sensation smartphone.
On top of that, the smartphone is bundled with a pair of custom-made Beats by Dr. Dre in-ear headphones to provide music lovers with a better audio experience. Once plugged in, the phone will automatically switch to a custom Beats sound profile that delivers fuller bass, crisper vocals, and a new level of clarity and range, according to HTC. There is a remote control too, which allows you to play, pause, advance through tracks, answer and end calls.
The HTC Sensation XE will be available in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa in late September. No details on the pricing yet.
