First, we heard about the HTC Sensation 2 Special Edition with Beats by Dr. Dre Audio. FYI, earlier last month, HTC has teamed up with Beats by Dr. Dre, to integrate the high-definition Beats audio experience in HTC smartphones.
Now, HTC has another Android smartphone to emerge from the collaboration between HTC and Beats Audio – codenamed Runnymede. HTC Runnymede is a high-end smartphone with above-average hardware specifications (notably massive internal storage and awesome camera spec), impressive audio quality, new version of immersive HTC Sense 3.5 and HTC Listen music store service. On top of that, the smartphone is bundled with Beats headphones.
The Android smartphone has a large 4.7-inch (800 x480 resolution) WVGA Super LCD screen display with sleek 9.9 mm exquisite and dust proof aluminium uni-body design. The Runnymede is powered by 1.5GHz single-core MSM8255 processor, with 768MB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal phone storage which can be expanded with a microSD card.
Moving to the camera department, HTC Runnymede will carry 8MP rear-camera with auto focus and dual LED flash, also feature a backlit sensor plus 28mm wide-angle lens and focal ratio of f/2.2. , suitable for wide angle shots and low light conditions. In video mode, the camera can record HD movie at 720p resolution and it can supposedly capture footage at 60 frames-per-second, more than twice that of the average handset. Beside rear camera, HTC Runnymede has a 1.3MP camera on its front for video calling.
Another selling point is the audio quality. HTC Runnymede features dual microphone and SRS surround sound with acoustic performance tuned by Beats for superior mobile audio experience. =D
The device will most probably hit the stores before the end of this year. Stay tuned for more details. Thanks, Pocketnow and Androidguys!
