The first Android tablet from HTC, the HTC Flyer, which was first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 in Barcelona (back in February), comes with Android Gingerbread 2.3 OS pre-installed.
Although HTC is confident that they can deliver visually-rich tablet experience to users with their own custom HTC Sense skin, but the Gingerbread OS is really meant for smartphone. Android tablet should runs the Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS instead.
Today, HTC has announced via twitter that the Honeycomb OS update will make available to HTC Flyer tablet, but without giving any specific date.
With this good news from HTC, HTC fans should be very excited to get their hands on HTC Flyer, which is expected to launch in second quarter of 2011. To Malaysia users, Maxis is expected to bring the Android tablet to our market soon as they have started to get bloggers to review the HTC Flyer through the Maxis10 Reviewers Programme.
