Bitdefender has recently launched a new free, fast and powerful antivirus app for the mobile operating system. FYI, the leading anti-virus vendor also offers a paid version antivirus solution for Android. It’s called Mobile Security & Antivirus, by the way.
The free security app, known as the Bitdefender Antivirus Free, provides fast and efficient protection against the latest malware threats to your Android devices. You can rest assured that this app won’t hog your system as it uses the latest in-the-cloud scanning technology, which gives close-to-zero impact on battery life and device performance. Also, you get to save some storage space too as Bitdefender Antivirus Free eliminates the need for local malware signatures.
Bitdefender Antivirus Free has a clean and simple interface. In the main interface, you will notice a large SCAN button in the middle. Tap on button to begin scanning your Android devices for malware or infected apps. Autopilot is turned on by default. The feature will automatically scan any new apps you install on your Android devices.
There is actually nothing to configure within the app. The Settings page provides a few options like trigger on/off Autopilot and Scan Storage option. If you requires more features like real-time web security, Anti-Theft and more, you need to fork out some money to upgrade to Bitdefender Mobile Security and Antivirus.
Bitdefender Antivirus Free is compatible with devices running Android 2.0.1 and above.
