Blog Earning Report

Here is the breakdown of my earnings for August 2010, with total money made online : USD$364.20.

  • Google Adsense : $327.19
  • Kontera : $37.01

There is only two things that we, bloggers, need to do to make money from blogging. First is to drive a lot traffic to our blog, then maximize the earning from that traffic.

Taking my blog as an example, I have a decent amount of traffic (100k page views) flowing to my blog each month. So in my opinion, I think I’ve done a good job for the traffic part.

Somehow, I’ve failed to maximize the income from the traffic I’ve bring to My Tech Quest. And it is not difficult to figure out the reason because I’ve been depending heavily on Google Adsense and Kontera for earning.

If I take the blog income and divide it by the blog page views, I will get a site wide eCPM of only $3.32. This means that for every 1000 page views, My Tech Quest makes only $3.32, which translates into only 0.332 cents per view.  See, I earned only one-third cent for every view.

Now, I want you to calculate your eCPM? See you get higher or lower eCPM than mine? Feel free to let me know in the comments.

P.S. : The $1k earning goal per month by the end of 2010. Status : MAYBE NOT ACHIEVABLE!
