Google has announced on the availability of the Google Chrome and Google Drive apps on iOS devices like iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, on the day 2 of the Google I/O 2012 conference. Both the apps are now downloadable for free from iTunes App Store.
Using the iOS version of Google Chrome app, by signing in to Chrome (using your Google account), you can sync your open tabs, bookmarks, passwords, and omnibox data from your computer to your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. You can also send pages from Chrome on your computer to your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad with one click and read them on the go, even if you’re offline.
Moreover, the popular Incognito mode is also brought to iOS version of Chrome. If you don’t want Chrome to store your browsing history on your device, you just simply fire a tab in Incognito and browse the pages from there.
Meanwhile Google Drive for iOS enables you to quickly and easily access all the files (documents, photos and videos) that you’ve uploaded from your computer and stored in the Google Drive cloud storage (comes with free 5GB storage). You can also share the files and folders with others on the go. Besides, you can make files available for offline access.
Other features include the ability to sync files across your desktop and all your devices, open files from Drive with other apps installed on your iOS device and star your most important files to easily find them later.
