Samsung Malaysia has officially launched their first Android-powered digital camera, the Galaxy Camera in Malaysia on Wednesday, November 28 at Ciao Ristorante, KL. The device comes with a price tag of RM 1,899 and has hit stores nationwide the following day on November 29. Yes, Samsung is quick at putting their devices on the shelf. 🙂

To recap, Galaxy Camera sports a 4.8-inch HD Super clear touch display with resolution at 1280 x 720 and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It is powered by a 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD slot up to 64GB).
The main highlight is its camera, the Galaxy Camera features 16.3-megapixels CMOS sensor, along with 21x optical zoom and a 23mm lens for wide angle shots. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean mobile OS and comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity to enable you to instantly share photos to internet or nearby Wi-Fi direct devices.
Although you can’t make calls on Galaxy Camera, you can still keep in touch with family and friends using Android apps like Skype, Whatsapp etc.

Thus far, Maxis is the only telco that offers broadband package for Galaxy Camera.
