In the “Let’s Talk iPhone” Apple event on October 4, besides the announcement of the new iPhone 4S, Apple also unveiled new features and cheaper pricing for both its iPod touch and iPod nano.
Let’s talk about iPod touch first before continue on iPod nano.
iPod Touch
The new iPod touch looks the same as its previous version on the outside. On the software part, iPod touch features the latest Apple mobile operating system, iOS 5 as well as the iCloud service. The iOS 5 comes with over 200 new features which includes iMessage, Game Center, WiFi syncing to iTunes, AirPlay and the Notification Center.
Meanwhile, the iCloud service gives you 5GB of free storage. It automatically stores your content such as music, photos, apps, calendars, documents, and more, in the cloud, and is accessible across all your devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Mac). When content changes on one device, all your other devices are updated automatically and wirelessly.
iPod touch with iOS 5 and iCloud will be available October 12 in black and white. The device get price reduction of $30, to $199 for 8GB, $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB model.
iPod Nano
The new iPod nano now features larger icons in the 1.5-inch multi-touch display for easier navigation, alongside with 16 new digital clock faces, ranging from classic analog looks to popular Disney characters including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Besides, you can now use iPod nano to track your runs and walks right out of the box with no accessory required. You can see the time, pace and distance of your run, the calories you burn, and the number of steps you walk, right from the iPod device.
Available in seven flavours including silver, graphite, blue, green, orange, pink and (PRODUCT) RED. Pricing starts from $129 for 8GB and $149 for 16GB. In previous version, iPod nano was sold for $149 and $179 respectively.
