ASUS has unveiled the Transformer Book T100 – a new tablet / laptop hybrid device that runs full-fledged Windows 8.1 and is powered by Intel’s tablet-specific Bay Trail processor. The device was introduced at the Intel Developer Forum 2013 in San Francisco. Read on for more details.
The ASUS Transformer Book T100 features a 1.33 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Bay Trail-TZ3740 processor and a 10.1-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768. The tablet / laptop hybrid comes with 2GB of RAM and two choices of storage sizes – 32GB or 64GB.
It has a front-facing camera of 1.2 MP, but no rear camera though. On the tablet, there is a micro-USB port, a micro-HDMI port, a microSD card reader as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack. A USB 3.0 port can be found on the detachable keyboard dock. The device can runs up to 11 hours with a 31Whr battery.

Pricing and Availability
ASUS Transformer Book T100 is priced at $349 for 32GB model and $399 for 64GB model. The device is expected to go on sale starting October 18. Microsoft will release Windows 8.1 on that very day.
