ASUS Eee Pad Slider SL101 is on its way to our shore soon, according to a status update in Facebook by ASUS Malaysia yesterday. We expect the second ASUS Eee Pad’s series of Honeycomb tablet PC to be launched in September. Nothing was revealed yet – no launch date and no pricing as well.
FYI, the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, the first Android honeycomb tablet from ASUS, was previosuly launched in our country back in May. Actually, the Eee Pad Slider was supposed to be released along side the Eee Pad Transformer. But the release of the Eee Pad Slider was delayed due to technical issues. Now, the tablet PC is ready to meet the consumers. 🙂
As for hardware specs, ASUS Eee Pad Slider is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 1.0 GHz dual-core processor with 10.1-inch LED backlight WXGA (1280×800 resolution) screen display fronted with a protective layer of the Scratch resistant Corning’s Gorilla Glass. The tablet PC runs on Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS(3.2 upgradable) with flash support.
What’s so unique about Eee Pad Slider is the built-in slide out QWERTY keyboard, transforming the tablet into a fully fledged netbook. Compare it with Eee Pad Transformer, although the Transformer has no built-in keyboard, it has the ability to “dock” into an almost full sized keyboard.
