ASUS announces Intel Haswell-powered Transformer Book T3001 min read

At IFA 2013 in Berlin last week, besides the debut of ASUS MeMO Pad 8 and MeMO Pad 10, the Taiwanese company also unveiled a new Windows 8 tablet / laptop hybrid device that is powered by 4th generation Intel Core Haswell processor. The device is called ASUS Transformer Book T300.

Transformer Book T300 features a 13.3-inch Full HD screen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. There are three choice of Intel Core processors – a Core i3-4010U, i5-4200U, or i7-4500 chip. The device runs an Intel HD 4000 graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM and NGFF SSD options of either 64, 128 or 256GB.

The device has a front-facing camera capable of capturing 720p HD video and a rear 1080p full HD camera. On the tablet part, you can find a USB 3.0 port, a micro-HDMI port, a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm audio jack. The detachable keyboard dock includes a USB 3.0 port.

Transformer Book T300 runs Windows 8 and is expected to receive free upgrade to Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 will be available from October 18 onwards.

No detail on the pricing and availability though. Will certainly update you when we get hold of the detail. At the meantime, check out the new Windows 8.1 tablet / laptop hybrid – 10.1-inch Transformer Book T100.
