WordPress Admin Bar is a WordPress plugin that creates an admin toolbar at the top of your WordPress blog. This admin toolbar is similar as what you see in WordPress.com.
The plugin replicates all of the menu links in your admin dashboard area and displays them at the top of your main site. The admin toolbar is only visible to the blog administrator and you need to first log in to your WordPress back-end in order for the toolbar to show up.
This admin toolbar enables you (the blog administrator) to quickly access all the menu items from your WordPress dashboard. Simply hover over the menu to display the sub-menus available under that partcular menu.
For example, you can go right to the “Write Post” or manage options pages in one click from anywhere on your blog, without having to go to your dashboard first.
If you want to hide any of the menus on the admin toolbar or to switch themes, you can configure them in WordPress Admin Bar’s options page.
