In HTC’s regional event in Singapore today, as expected the Taiwanese smartphone maker revealed its flagship Android smartphone – the HTC One X+ plus two Windows Phone 8 smartphones – the HTC 8X and 8S.
In addition to the three phones, HTC also unveiled two new smartphones. One is known as HTC One SV while another is the HTC Desire SV – the successor to HTC Desire S.
HTC One SV
HTC One SV features a 4.3-inch super LCD-2 screen display (480 x 800 resolution) with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The LTE-ready model is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, with 1GB of RAM and 8GB worth of internal memory. Storage is expandable via microSD card.
As for the camera, One SV has a 5MP rear camera with auto focus, LED flash, f/2.0, 2mm lens and BSI sensor. While the front-facing camera has a 1.6 MP BSI sensor with F/2.2 aperture.
Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, a 1800 mAh battery and Beats Audio integration. As for the software version, One SV runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, instead of the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The phone comes in two flavors – Stealth Black and Glacier White. It is selling at S$688 (~RM 1718) outright and will be available from December in Singapore and Australia. Most probably, One SV is not going to reach Malaysia.

HTC Desire SV
HTC Desire SV is the upgrade model of last year’s HTC Desire S. The Ice Cream Sandwich-based phone features a 4.3-inch super LCD2 screen display with 480 x 800 resolution. It is powered by an 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, expandable via microSD card.
In addition to that, Desire SV has dual-SIM capability. It’s the second handset from HTC after the Desire V to enable you use two SIM cards from the same phone. Other features include an 8MP rear camera with auto focus, LED flash, f/2.2, 2mm lens and BSI sensor, a 1620 mAh battery, Beats Audio integration, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.
Desire SV comes in two flavors – Radical Yellow and Stealth Black, will hit the market in India in mid-November at 22,590 rupees (US$420 or RM 1280). Next stop will be Indonesia. Not sure about Malaysia though.
