Previously, we have mentioned HTC Deluxe DLX as the possible international version of the US-bound HTC DROID DNA and also Japan-only J Butterfly. Turns out, HTC’s new flagship smartphone is named as HTC Butterfly. It’s almost identical to the J Butterfly, except that the former runs on GSM networks worldwide.
HTC Butterfly sports a 5-inch super LCD 3 HD display with 1,920 x 1080 resolution (440PPI) and is protected by scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The 1080p full HD smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 SoC with a quad-core 1.5GHz Krait CPU and Adreno 320 GPU. In addition to that, it has 2GB of RAM, internal storage size of 16GB, expandable via microSD card and is packed with a 2,020 mAh battery.
Other notable features include 8MP rear camera with 1080p video recording, 2.1MP front facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Beats Audio and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. For more details, you can hop over to the official page at HTC global site.
Thus far, there is no word on the pricing and availability of the smartphone. We heard that the device is heading to China really soon. Hopefully it will be attractively priced. 🙂
