ASUS has officially unveiled the next generation of its Padfone smartphone and tablet combo. The new Padfone model – dubbed as Padfone Infinity was announced alongside with Fonepad tablet on February 25 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013. Padfone Infinity get a larger full HD screen display with faster quad-core processor, LTE connectivity, runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean while its Station tablet features full HD display. As for the specs sheet, the Padfone Infinity features a sleek metallic aluminium unibody design and a larger, 5-inch full HD screen display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and an extraordinary 441 ppi. The current Padfone 2 only sports a 4.7-inch Super IPS+ HD display with 1280×720 resolution and 312 ppi. Padfone Infinity is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, clocked at 1.7GHz. It has 2GB of RAM and two option of internal storage : 32GB or 64GB. In addition to that, you get 50GB worth of ASUS WebStorage provided free for two years. There is however no microSD card expansion.
The handset comes with a 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5-element lens, autofocus, LED flash, 1080p full HD video recording and 8FPS burst mode, which allows user to capture up to 100 sequential shots. On the front is a 2MP camera for video calling. It packs with a non-removable 2400mAh battery, giving you up to 19 hours of 3G talk time and up to 410 hours of standby time.
Other features include LTE connectivity, 2.4GHz 802.11a/b/g/n/ac with Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, USB 2.0 and MyDP port (supports Micro-USB 2.0 Host & Device, 1080p video-out). Padfone Infinity measures at 6.3mm thickness and weighs 141g.
Next, on the Padfone Infinity Station. The tablet dock turns Padfone Infinity into a sleek 10.1-inch tablet with a full HD display at 1920 x 1080 resolution and 244 ppi. It has 1MP front facing camera, micro-USB 2.0 port, non-removable 5000mAh battery. The battery capacity increases the docked Padfone Infinity 3G talk time to up to 40 hours and is enough to full recharge the docked handset up to three times.

Pricing and Availability
Padfone Infinity comes in three flavors – Titanium Gray, Champagne Gold or Hot Pink. The handset and tablet combo will hit Taiwan first from April and selected other countries from early Q2 2013. The combined price of PadFone Infinity 64GB and PadFone Infinity Station is €999 (USD 1300 or RM 4000). Exact pricing and specifications may vary by market.
