Sollensys and Capacitive Touch Sensor Technology

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sollensys for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

When Apple introduced its first ever iPhone smartphone to the world some six years ago, the smartphone took the world by storm and even though iPhone was not the world’s first touch-based device, it has somehow sparked the rapid growth of the touch screen revolution. Today, touch screen technology has become a must in mobile device market. Yes, you shall notice that most if not all new smartphones, tablets and even Windows 8 based devices are now using multitouch touch screen panels for input. And it won’t be a surprise at all to see other devices like home appliances, automobiles and even medical equipment to use the touch screen technology in the future.

How large is the touch screen market? Well, the global touch screen market is valued at $7.7 billion and continues to soar with an annual growth rate of 14%, making the touch screen industry one of the lucrative and rapidly growing areas of electronics manufacturing. The current touch screen manufacturing companies include Samsung, LG Display, Panasonic and Sollensys.

Sollensys and Capacitive Touch Sensor Technology

Talking about Sollensys. The mid-cap Korean-based company has been operating in South Korea and China for a few years now, and has recently debut in the U.S. stock market in September 2012. The company manufactures three components of touch screen modules: glass, touch sensor panels, and LCD displays. These components are then put together for use in standard 3.5-inch, 4-inch and 10.1-inch screens, such as those found in Android, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and other types of interactive devices. Sollensys’ touch screens for various products range from 3 inches to 20 inches.

Sollensys provides touch screen solutions to customers include Chinese mobile device companies KPT Company and T-Smart and Chinese companies that supply smart phone terminals to companies like China.com and ChinaMobile.com. It plans to produce touch screens used in almost every major mobile device worldwide.

Moreover, the company also plans to license its touch screen technology to other manufacturers. In fact, the company has signed the agreement for its first licensee factory in Guatemala. In the next 5 to 10 years, Sollensys-licensed factories will focus on Central America (Guatemala), Europe (Turkey), Russia, India, and Southeast Asian countries like Myanmar.

It’s good to see such an ambitious company competing for market share in a highly potential industry. Anyhow, we wish Sollensys every success in the future and hopefully one day the company becomes one of the major player in the touch screen industry.
