Scan and Remove Potentially Unwanted Programs from Your Computer

FreeFixer is a free Windows utility that helps you to scan your system for potentially unwanted software, such as adware, spyware, trojans, viruses and worms, and allows you to remove them.

FreeFixer works by scanning a large number of locations where unwanted software has a known record of appearing or leaving traces. This removal tool is easy to use. After complete installation, just launch the program. On the main window, click the “Start Scan” button to begin scanning your system.

After complete scan, scan results for each category (e.g. Browser helper objects, Internet Explorer toolbars, processes etc) is displayed. Here, you must decide by yourself on which unwanted file or software that should be removed. Tick the items that you want to remove and click Fix. However, you must be extremely careful not to delete legitimate system files, because you may damage your system.

If you are not sure about a certain file, you can click the “more info” links for each item in the scan result. Clicking the more info link will open the FreeFixer web site with additional information about the item. Or you can also save log file of your scan result and consult the volunteers in one of the FreeFixer helper forums.

FreeFixer is freeware and compatible with Windows 2000, XP, 2003, 2008, Vista and 7 RC1.
