Traffic stat for April 2010 : 61,402 unique visitors and 93,213 page views.

The traffic sources are as follow :

  • Search Engines : 43,841 (71.40%)
  • Referring Sites : 11,956 (19.47%)
  • Direct Traffic : 5,304 (8.64%)
  • Other : 301 (0.41%)

Blog Earning Report

Here is the breakdown of my earnings for April 2010, with total money made online : USD$374.84.

  • Google Adsense : $295.45
  • Kontera : $54.36
  • Asterpix : $3.80
  • Affiliate sales : $20.03
  • Amazon Associates : $1.20

Things didn’t turn out well last month. This blog received less traffic and earned less money last month. The earning from Kontera was very disappointing, dropped to only half the amount that I’ve earned on March 2010. So should I regret my decision of switching from Infolinks to Kontera?

Good bye, Asterpix!

On other news, I’ve quited Asterpix (finally!). Judging from the performance, Asterpix is the worst money maker for this blog. Therefore, I have no reason to keep Asterpix in this blog. Sorry, Asterpix! You’re out!

Welcome, Amazon Associates!

So one out and one coming in, I have decided to bring Amazon Associates to My Tech Quest on mid last month after reading about how Mike from CravingTech has increased his Amazon earnings by tenfold. I am using a WordPress plug-in called “Amazon Product in a Post” too, same with Mike. I do have several software product reviews on my blog. Therefore, I’ve decided to install this plugin. The plus side of this plugin as compare to the default Amazon widget, is that you can easily add one or more related Amazon products under a blog article.

So far, I am currently promoting one product. Blame on me for not having much software reviews. Will try to review other software products. For last month, I’ve managed to get one sale (my first sale), earning $1.20 in commission. I hope I can earn better with Amazon Associates this month. Let’s hope that Amazon Associates doesn’t end up like Asterpix. :-)

    Nice :D So the plug-in really works well as I thought. I think if every tech blogger knows about this, they can make some money out of Amazon easier.

    I still feel envy with your AdSense earnings though :( It’s like 2-3 times more than mine

      obviously the adsense numbers are hugely inflated. the actual number is under $100.

      Yeah, I love this WordPress plug. However, my Amazon associates earning won’t get much conversion as yours. Your tech blog is filled with handful of product reviews, and it’s easier to insert related product after the review posts. My blog is far behind yours. :-(

      And about the Adsense earning, I hope your earning will increase steadily. I am aiming to hit $600 by the end of the year. But first I need to bring in lotsa traffic. :-) Good luck on your money making journey. :-)

        Well I think you’ll still find it easier to get some cents out of clicks rather than a sales conversion :D
        Amazon only pays 4% *ouch* but I guess it’s easier to get a conversion than an AdSense click on a product review post

          Yeah, your blog is more to product reviews posts, so definitely Amazon Associates is a better money maker. I always envy that you have Socialpark, Private advertising which contributed good money for you. :-)
