A few days back, I checked my Google Analytics for traffic stats and I was surprised to notice my traffic has doubled! Did one of my blog posts get attention from the StumbleUpon? It would be good because it was long since my last post got stumbled. However, I found out that it was not StumbleUpon that responsible for the boost in traffic. What then?

Global Translator WordPress Plugin

It is the Global Translator plugin that helps to boost the traffic to my blog! I just activated this WordPress plugin a few days back (notice all the different flags under my profile?) and I saw the effect overnight. Global Translator plugin like the name suggested, is a tool that automatically translate our blog posts into 34 different languages and what is so good is that the translated posts will be indexed by the international search engines such as google.com.my, google.co.in and more, which means my blog is now getting more exposure and traffic.

If you still doubt with what I’ve said, you can check out the live activity feed widget in my blog sidebar. Live activity feed shows the sources of the traffic that arrive to my blog. You will noticed that some traffic are from the international search engines and the visitors are reading the translated posts. Not only my blog is getting more and more traffic from the search engines, I am also earning more money from the Google Adsense.

If you need a new and less known way to increase your blog traffic, try this traffic booster!

I know about this plug-in but didn’t know that your blog will be translated to the native language automatically to be picked up by international search engines. I thought it’s just a language translation tool where you need to click manually to convert your blog posts

Will certainly give this a try now! Hope it’s compatible with WP-SuperCache..which I doubt it will…

Michael Aulia > I am using Global Translator along with WP-Super Cache. Seem to work nicely. Give it a try first. :-)

  • http://www.michaelaulia.com/blogs Michael Aulia

Yeah I read on the official page that it is compatible with SuperCache. I’ve actually already turned this plug-in on my blog just now :) Let’s wait and see!

If it really can bring nice traffic, I’ll definitely post about this too and credit you for the lovely news ;)

Michael Aulia > Thanks for informing me about the supported language by Google Adsense via email. If not, I may get ban by Adsense, my only internet income.

I used this plugin, it did bring a lot of traffic from Russia.. but the problem was that the commenters were commenting in russian native language itself… I turned down many as spam.. but they were actually from good bloggers from good blogs..

  • http://www.mytechquest.com Steve Yu

Nicholas > Ya, that’s the problem. But we can always translate the non-english comments using any translation tool. Most importantly is the traffic and how much the traffic have converted into money.

I am going to try this out soon.

It will lower your page rank cos, the no’ of pages risen!
I arrived PR 1 cos, of that!

  • http://www.mytechquest.com Steve Yu

Amir > I never worry about that (if what you said was true) because my pagerank is 0.

  • http://mypsick.com Amir

It is true, good content is important not the PR.

Amir > I agree with you. Content is king and traffic is the queen.

Wow! Thank you! I always wanted to write in my blog something like that. Can I take part of your post to my site? Of course, I will add backlink?

I just downloaded the plugin today. I realize that online translations are full of mistakes but I hope this will still be useful to my readers. More traffic would be nice also.

Question: Are you still using this plugin? If not have you written a post on your reasons. If you are using this plugin are you still getting good results?

I’ve stopped using Global Translator long time ago. Well, I did enjoyed the extra traffic the time I’ve this plug installed. But not more than 2 months, I deactivated this plug after realising that this plug might get my blog punished by Google. Don’t know whether it’s true or not. But I don’t want to take this risk.

My traffic wasn’t doubled, but Global Translator Plugin certainly increases the traffic.

A technical question to editor and commenters: did you include the translated strings (/de/, /fr/, etc) in non-cacheble at WP Super Cache plugin?

    • http://www.mytechquest.com Steve Yu

Sorry, I’ve stop using this plugin for quite a while.
